Amazon Echo is a loudspeaker that is controlled by your own voice. Echo connects with the Alexa Voice Service to play music, provide information, news, sports results and weather forecasts, and much more. Prime members can also ask Alexa to order available, previously ordered products or many other Prime products. You just have to ask for it.
Echo has seven microphones and directional beam technology so you can hear it from the other side of the room – even in noisy surroundings or when music is running. Echo also has an optimally tuned loudspeaker, which fulfills the room with a 360 ° sound. If you want to use Echo, just say the activation word “Alexa” and Echo responds. If you have more than one echo or echo dot, Alexa responds by ESP (Echo Spatial Perception) from the closest device to you.
Amazon Alexa devices are controlled with your voice or via the Alexa app . If you have more than one device with the same activation word, Alexa responds with the help of ESP (Echo Spatial Perception) from the echo closest to you and executes the request.
On the following Amazon devices it is not necessary to say the activation word before your request:
Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Stick
To interact with a single Amazon Echo , Echo Dot, or Amazon Fire TV voice remote control for Amazon Echo device, you can use the compatible Alexa voice remote control (sold separately for Echo devices ) or change the activation word .
Note: You can not connect multiple Alexa devices together and do not play the same audio signals at the same time.
If you want, you can give each Alexa device its own name. Go to My content and devices to change the name of the device.
Shared content and general settings
If you have logged in more than one Alexa device into your Amazon account, some of your content and settings will be used across devices. The content you see in the Settings section of the Alexa app in the Account section is the same for all your Alexa devices. These include:
Music and media
Smart Home appliances
Shopping and to-do lists
Specific content that is not shared between devices in the same account includes:
Alarm clock and timer
Note: Currently, you can not determine which content is available on certain devices. For example, music, skills, or to-do lists are available on all Alexa devices registered on the same account as the content.
