By Judy Brillinger of Elora, Ont.

While doing research on my husband's family tree, I remembered his Great Aunt Bertha had passed along this little book containing historical sketches of the Brethren In Christ Church in Markham, Ontario. The original book contains references to the Brillinger family as well as some personal comments in the margins by Aunt Bertha who was born in 1891 and lived to the age of 94. She knew many of the families mentioned in the 60 ( only 39 in HTML ) pages . It is 6" x 9" with a soft brown cover, graying with age.

Upon rereading the book, I realized that it should be in a form that could be shared with anyone interested in Mennonite geneology and their migration from Pennsylvania to Ontario. It contains valuable references to many of the families in the Bertie, Bethesda, Clarence, Howick, Nottawa, Springvale, Wainfleet, and Waterloo District churches.

What a beautiful surprise to unwrap a piece of paper on Christmas Day from Bill and Dana (our son & daughter-in-law) with the website address of the completed book for all the world to see and use!

It is with heartfelt thanks, that I dedicate this website to my husband John, and to Bill, Dana and our grandson Samuel Jacob Robert Brillinger.
